                                   On the 8th of December our class went to lake Kaniere for a overnighter.So i did a video of some things that we did for an example:The lake,the tree top walk, and the Marae.ENJOY!

Investigating Growing Patterns.CT LF

For Maths we have been learning about Algebra 
so me and Lucy made our own pattern then Investigated our pattern like how many sticks and the pattern number.Hope you enjoy our slide.

MD CT Rad Rhythm pots and pans drumming.

For the past few weeks we have been making music with Pots&Pans with Rad Rhythm Lessons.Then we moved on to making up our own sequence.I really Enjoyed doing pots&pans because we got to dress up in all sorts of funky out fits.I recommend this activity to all age groups.In the future i would like to do more music related activity's.Here is Mine and Mary's video. 🙂😜😃😊😊😌

Sailing on the lake.

                                         On Friday the 4th we went sailing on lake Brunner. I think it was a good idea to go sailing because we actually did something on our lake also it was a good chance for the people who have not been sailing to have a go.I liked it when we had to put our hair in the water and then we fliped it up and shouted Because i'm worth it.

Mine and Mary's company.

In our class we have been learning about companies.Some of us started our own companies so we made logo's for them this is mine and Mary's.So we are called Book worm's and because we are the librarians and get books for our class library shelf and there are two worms because there are two of us also there are books because library's have books.I think our logo is good  because i like that the pictures are simple.

St Johns visitor.

On Tuesday the second  we had a visitor from St Johns.she taught us some things about first aid,recovery position and hypothermia we also did CPR on CPR dummies and we listened to our heart beat. 

my well being WHARE.

On the 3rd of august we did a whare of a well-being. What we had to do is represent your-self on a piece of paper in the boxes.My first one represents  physical my second one represents  social my third one represents  emotional and my last one is spiritual. 

Chelsea's ski trip 2016

On Friday the 29th of July we went on our ski trip at Porter Heights.I went on the intermediate and the Poma lift.I think it was a good idea to go so the people who do not know how to ski will get a chance to try.And I liked my ski Instructor she taught us how to do heaps of stuff my most favourite thing was that I finally went on the jumps for the first time.

Big Art Inquiry.

Our class is doing a art Inquiry and you have to choose a piece of art and then research about the artist and then choose what to do for an example choose a piece of art and then do a papermache bowl and then when you are finished paint the piece of art you chose in the middle of the bowl.  

Elgregoe visits our school.

Today Elgregoe and his assistant Sue visited our school to teach us not to bully while he was teaching us he did some very impressive magic tricks with birds and puppets. Some of the magic tricks included popping a balloon and then a bird just appears out of a balloon.Some  of the key messages are hands are for helping not hurting and don't repeat every thing you hear,Only repeat thinks that are friendly and helpful.I think it was a good  that he also preformed magic so we would not switch off.My favourite part of the show was when a real life bird came out of the picture and the floating man.

We are learning to solve tricky times tables using my five times tables.

For the last couple of  weeks my maths group has been learning our tricky times tables like 7,6 and 8 times tables.So to do this we used  5 times tables to solve it.Check out my video of me working out my tricky times tables using fives times tables.

Investigating sound.

In our first video we made a tune experimenting what sounds cups make when you tap them with pencils. We found out that if the glass is filled with less water the sound if more high pitched and if you full it up high the sound is low.


In our second video we were experimenting with the fork tuner and cup phones seeing if we can hear the sound.

Lemon or Lime No Bake Slice

Today we did ukulele in class and we had to choose some thing  and recorded ourself doing it.I chose to play Mary has a little lamb.  At first I found it hard then I got a bit better than I totally got the hang of it.And this is my video of Mary had a little lamb.

Going for a walk with Mr Barnett and Henk

Today we went on Velenski walk with Mr Barnett and Henk from doc the apartment of conservation. We went for the walk because we needed more information for our project we are working on.What we are doing is writing facts about the wildlife and nature for a talking shed so tourist can see what sort of plants and wildlife is around Moana.I think that going for the walk helped because some people saw the trees they were learning about and learn't some new things about their tree.

The trip to Tech space!

Tech Space is a building with heaps of technology  gadgets that you can touch and try them out.Some of the things in Tech Space is a 3d printer,giant touch screen ipad and a pen that you can draw your own 3d models.I thought of the 3d printer as a  thing that draws stuff on paper but in 3d.It was a good chance to learn stuff outside of the community.We think we should use the 3d printer for our learning because we are allowed to use it.

The Great Spotted Kiwi

A Kiwi is a flightless new Zealand bird. There are five main species of Kiwi.The great spotted Kiwi Is the one that lives here in the coast.The size of the kiwis wings are as big as our little finger

They live In  a bushy mountainous habitat,  have many physical characteristics, and have heaps of prey that they hunt.

Physical characteristics        

The great spotted Kiwi many unique physical characteristics. It has long whiskers so they can feel in the dark. It has long grey soft like feathers The great spotted kiwi is the tallest kiwi,about 45 centimetres tall.

Habitat        

The great spotted kiwi lives in many bushy mountainous places. It lives in damp rainforests so they can hide. It lives in the bush and sleep in burrows so they can keep out of the sunlight because it hates the light,they are nocturnal. The great spotted kiwi can be found Northwest Nelson,the Paparoa range and sometimes Arthur's pass.

Predators and Prey

The great spotted kiwi  has many predators and prey. It has predators that  are Cats,Dogs and Stoats.Kiwis are easily killed by their predators because they have very weak wing muscles and can simply  kill them by picking them up by their chest. Their predators also steal their eggs. It feeds on earthworms,insect and berries they have such good hearing they can hear worms in the soil they can also use their nostrils to sniff them out or the ground.The great spotted Kiwi lives in the bush to hide from these dangerous predators.                       

All Kiwis in New Zealand are endangered and protected.
